The sleigh is the lid. Lift it and there’s a full stick of butter on a footed tray. Square corners. Untouched. The first person to the table sets the precedent.
Poinsettia and bow on top. Sleigh bells down the side. Holly and pinecones along the runners, which curl at both ends. The tray stands on four feet you’ll need to squint to count. All of it hand-antiqued in pewter, so the bells and petals stand up off the surface.
At full size it would run about 9 inches long. Generous for a butter dish. Christmas is a generous time for butter.
Set it beside the dinner rolls, across from the gravy boat. Set the whole table and the sleighs outnumber the reindeer. Santa has questions.
Part of the Christmas table collection. Every piece is listed separately and sets the same table. Only the butter dish is included in this listing.
